The boundary between the church and the outside world is much broader than we realize.  It is an everyman’s land which people traverse continually, led in one direction or the other by their compelling convictions.  The rich diversity of perspectives that compose journeys of faith include sometimes unpredictable, confusing, excruciating, and marvelous chapters of human experience.  If movement is the essence of life, then belief (found and lost) is the compass that determines direction.   Borderlands is a series of insightful conversations with ordinary people navigating life on the borders of church and society.

Mike- His father’s suffering fueled anger and resentment toward the God he thought he knew.  But when answers to his deepest questions came from the least expected place, he discovered his peace -and much more. 



Errol - Family man, musician, and medical missionary.  This millennial credits God for turning the page of his life from the ganglands to the gospel, and healing him of a tortuous medical condition, using health principals he thought went out with the ark.

Olive - An unconventional childhood placed her between two opposing religions, and her life journey from one continent to another, through triumph and tragedy.  Recently widowed, and juggling work, studies and parenting her college-aged daughter, how does she find faith to take one day at a time?

Patrick - As a child, religious art triggered his spiritual awareness and longing for close fellowship with God.  His quest has led him on a journey through religious faiths.  Now he is ready to make a commitment to the one he feels has the answers he’s been looking for. 

Janna - 16 years old and discovering what it means to be a Christian, especially when you’re the only one:  the only one among your school friends; the only one in your age group at church. Is the power of one a real thing; and what do older people need to hear from the youth?

John and Eunice - Married for 60 years, they have witnessed their local church, as well as their local community, thrive and decline over the years. Never ones to stay on the sidelines or to let their age get in the way, why do they still believe in holding the fort, no matter what?
